As many of you might have read/saw on Huda Kattan’s social media, today she launched her new liquid lipsticks in Sephora in the U.A.E. I was one of the first to arrive to the launch and to receive most of her liquid lipsticks. Apart from Video Girl, Flirt, Trendsetter and Vixen I own every liquid lipstick she launched (12 out 16).
My initial response when swatching the colors was that they all felt very lightweight and hydrating. Some liquid lippies did apply a bit blotchy but that was easily fixed with the lighter colors. The colors Material Girl and Famous were too blotchy for me to fix…when first applied the product was more pigmented on parts than others on my upper and lower lips and it looked very uneven. I went in with a second layer but that made matters worse. On a more positive note, the color Spice Girl looks even when first applied, so I can’t really say that her darker colors apply blotchier than her lighter ones because some of the dark ones apply just as even as some of the lighter shades. Most colors weren’t transfer proof and therefore not long-wearing.
I really love the applicator and the smell of the liquid mattes. The sweet smell doesn’t linger so no worries to anyone who’s not into sweet scents.
I think the best way to apply these lipsticks is by trying to get enough product on the wand and just layering it once with one swipe. 10 out of the colors I own applied great with barely any unevenness. My favorite colors have to be Gossip Gurl, Muse and Trophy Wife.
Overall, I totally recommend getting the Huda Beauty liquid mattes (apart from the two colors I disliked).
If you wanna see swatches of the 12 colors I own head to our instagram page : threegalsoneblog and check my lip swatch video of all the colors I own (12 out of 16)
SIDENOTE: If I were to compare this to other brands I’d say that the Huda Liquid Lipsticks feel like the Lime Crime liquid lipsticks but sit on the lips and feel (when touching your lips) like the Girlactik ones.
