Hey everyone! So glad to be back on here. It’s been a hot minute, and there have been many releases since we’ve been gone, so there’s a lot of catching up to do. Let’s get right into it and start with Kim Kardashian’s new beauty line, KKW Beauty!
I think we all got the hint that Kim was planning on expanding her KKW line with Kylie Cosmetics, but none of us thought she would go ahead and start her own, or at least not so soon. To say I was beyond ecstatic to find out is an understatement, and what I loved even more is that she was coming out with contour and highlight sticks as we can all agree that she is the Queen of Contour.
Surely, as with any Kardashian or Jenner signed product, these were highly sought after, and I was lucky enough to be able to purchase them when they released. So, without further ado, lets get on to the review.
Starting with packaging. These are absolutely beautiful products, and if anyone is familiar with Kim Kardashian (which who isn’t these days) I believe that they greatly represent her style. People had a lot to say about their simplicity and monotonous color, but I think they look very sleek and professional, and who doesn’t love pretty nude packaging. I also would like to throw in that the products were very nicely sealed in plastic and then placed in a high quality nude colored plastic bag. The whole set up was very fabulous and luxurious feeling.
Moving on to the products themselves. There were four cream shades and a dual ended applicator with a blending brush on one end and a sponge on the other. The highlight stick has both a matte and a shimmery highlighter, and the contour stick has a lighter cool toned and a darker warm toned contour cream. I bought the lightest shade kit, and I must say the shades work perfectly on me (for reference I am a Mac NW 15-20 girl).
Guys, these products are AMAZING. They are by far the creamiest contour and highlight sticks I have ever used. They are very pigmented yet extremely blendable, and leave behind the most beautiful finish. I even tried wearing them without using a powder to set them, and they still looked great. These really reminded me of how much fun cream contouring is and they definitely made me fall in love with cream face products all over again.
The brush works really well for blending the contour, but the sponge does not work as well. It helps to wet it using a setting spray or some plain water, but I still prefer using a beauty blender to blend the highlighter in. However, the sponge and brush are removable, and Kim mentioned that she will be releasing different brush and sponge heads in different sizes, so hopefully there’ll be some better applicators sometime down the line.
The main drawback I can think of though, is there’s barely any product to enjoy. You get just under 2 grams of product in each stick, not each shade, but each full stick! For the steep price of $48 (excluding shipping and taxes), its quite a small amount. So, for those of you who love their creams and cream contour regularly, I don’t think this is the best suited product for you.
Final Verdict: If you love Kim Kardashian, or are looking for a luxurious product to splurge on then these are the way to go. However, if you cream contour and highlight often, then I would pass on these.
So that’s it for this blog post! I hope you guys enjoyed, and please feel free to leave a comment down below. We’re very active on our Insta page too, so follow us on there if you’d like @threegalsoneblog 🙂
